MERSEY TURBO
Here's a sneak preview of a project I've been working on for the past week. It's a re-liveried Bachmann Class 170 Turbostar for Merseyrail, with an obvious football flavour. I've printed the decals myself with a standard inkjet printer, which has been an interesting experience. All will be revealed in the March issue of Model Rail magazine, which goes to press just after the Festive holiday and will be on sale in early February.
May I take this opportunity to wish all readers a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR.
not enough red and to much blue George.
ReplyDeleteDo not fear - there's method in my madness!
ReplyDeleteI like it, I was thinking of doing a version Deutsche Bahn livery myself, either in the DB Regio Colours or Intercity.
ReplyDeleteCan you recommend a supplier for a used Turbostar? I don't want to wreck a shiny new one.
DB colours sound interesting - the good thing about the Turbostar is that it will suit virtually any livery. As for a used model - just look around exhibitions or ring around local model shops if you don't fancy Ebay. There's always Modeltrade, courtesy of Hattons:

DeleteMany thanks for that. I will have a look. The two car version seems the best bet.
Hi, I know this is a very old post but I was just wondering whether this was available to buy anywhere? Or any Merseyrail train model? I have an autistic 5 year old who loves Merseyrail trains and desperately wants one off Father Christmas this year but I can't find one anywhere. Could you help at all? Thank you...
