CHIP SHOP OPEN FOR BUSINESS

The first unit on my small row of shops has opened for business, as Kev's Plaice fish 'n' chips takeaway. The tiled interior, stainless steel fryer and counter really look the part and the working neon-style window sign (from Express Models) adds a finishing touch. The interior lighting, using a traditional miniature filament bulb powered by a 9V battery, adds to the atmosphere, especially in the evening light.

Other businesses planned for the neighbouring premises include an estate agent, taxi company and a newsagents.

Look out for a full demo of how the 'chippy' was created in the next issue of Model Rail (MR259), out 14th March.

  1. Alas, Express Models don't produce the Chippy sign at present.
