AC 90
I've been planning a number of AC electric-themed projects recently and another has been added to the list, thanks to this amazing new detailing kit from PH Designs. Aimed at improving the Hornby Class 90, it contains new resin valances and bufferbeams, plus two sheets of etched brass providing improved cab front details and window frames, plus a host of other goodies.
The Hornby model is a bit old in the tooth in some respects, but in others it's not so bad. The pantograph needs replacing and the wheels are chunky, but I'm certain that, once finished, the '90' should be looking far more realistic.
Hey, has there been any progress on this kit? I've been looking forward to it.

ReplyDeleteI made a very quick start on this project, but it soon became clear that it wasn't going to fit into the available space that I have for an upcoming issue of Model Rail. So, instead, the original article will cover the Class 85 & 86, while this Cl90 project will follow separately, hopefully later this year...
