REAL TIMBER WAGON LOADS

Further to the previous post on modern engineers’ wagon loads - and keeping with the theme of creating loads from readily-available materials - here is a Cambrian Models OTA timber carrier, loaded with hawthorn twigs to mimic logs. They were cut from a garden hedge and dried on a low heat in the oven for an hour before leaving to air in a warm, dry room for a few weeks. Fixed together with fast-setting PVA, retaining strips were formed from thin strips of electrician’s insulation tape, fixed with superglue.
